What excitement we had Sunday, June 1, as soon as we turned the corner for the 35 mile loop! We had just seen some high water signs before the turn but there was no water to be seen. Apparently the water decided to hide around the corner. So, here's what we saw: ![]() Oh, no that's not right... that's Lake Wawasee from later on in the afternoon. Let's try again: ![]() That's better. So we came up to the water, and I stopped to see what everyone wanted to do. We could go up the road a mile or so and probably cut around it. But you see, Justine's from Texas, and Texas women are apparently tougher than I am. She tells me to hold her bike and she's off to see how deep it is. The report from the middle of this is 4"; safe enough. We went across, some riding, some carrying their bikes, like this: ![]() The rest of the ride was uneventful, except for the pesky wind. And apparently, everyone who got their feet wet during their portage had very cold feet for the rest of the ride, even in the parking lot at the end.
