Please DO NOT PARK AT THE CHURCH. There is a road just west (before) the church by an old brick building, park on that road.
First rider will roll out at 6PM and we will continue to roll out every 30 seconds. Arrive early to warm up and be ready. This is a 10 mile (5)out and (5)back TT. Townley's town limit sign is the turn-around. The road is open to traffic and the cross traffic should stop but you will still need to use caution.

Latest News / Press Conference August 28-10AM
« on: August 25, 2012, 01:33:09 PM »
There has been a change in the date and time for this conference, hope you can attend.

from Dennis Donahue

Due to scheduling conflicts, this event has been changed to:

Tuesday, August 28, 2012
10:00-11:00am

Mid-block (probably closer to the southeast corner of Calhoun & Wayne) in front of One Summit Square (110 E. Wayne), there will be a press conference that will announce the introduction to City Council the proposed amendments for the provision of bicycles and vehicles on the streets of Fort Wayne.

Feel free to invite any relevant bike groups/advocates to this event.

Please RSVP to me your availability. dennis.donahue@cityoffortwayne.org

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The City will be introducing an update to city bicycle ordinances to include the new infrastructure added to streets.  Also, they have included a 3-foot passing law and a "dooring" provision.  This is the most comprehensive re-working of bicycle rules in Fort Wayne in decades.  There will be a press conference to kick off the introduction to City Council - which will discuss the ordinance in early September.  I have been asked by city officials to invite as many cycling enthusiasts to the press conference as possible.

Ride on,

Latest News / Meeting night- Social hour
« on: September 01, 2011, 01:18:25 PM »
Please join us for the 3RVS meeting this Thursday, Sept 1 at The First Wayne Street UM Church, 300 E Wayne, at 7:30
The meeting will start with officers reports, reporting on late breaking news of what is happening in September and October.
After that, the floor is open for the Good of the Order. You can bring ideas of what you would like to see our club do, be involved with and/or just fresh ideas to make life on a bike with even more fun. After that it's social hour. Come to FWSUMC at 7:30 and chat with your fellow cycling buddies, the challenge will be if you can recognize them in street clothes.

September is Century Month and our club is hosting two centuries on Labor Day, with the starting time at 8AM. Both are covering the distance but are set up two different ways.  Huntertown is the starting place for an out and back century with options of 60, 75 or the full 100. The Short Circuit Century starts in Hicksville and is a series of loops where riders will never be more than 10 miles from the sag or start/finish place. You can read more details in your September newsletter. This is a good ride to sport you club jersey.

The Jersey Bins have arrived and I will bring them to the club meeting. This bin is 5 1/2" x 4" and is made of clear 10 gauge plastic. We do have our logo on one side but the other is clear. These little pouches have an awesome feature, you can use touch screen cell phones through the pouch and talk without taking the cell phone out of the pouch. It really works! $5.

I will bring the club apparel to the meeting. Checks or cash accepted.

Club jersey $60
Club vest $60 (limited sizes)
Club Arm Warmers $25 (limited sizes)
Jersey Bins $5 (waterproof pouch)

Club membership $20 ind., $30 family.

Ride on,

Sorry about not getting back to you Angel but I have think I have worked out a solution.
Since I probably will not be riding for the remainder of the year, I contacted Steve P about taking your jersey to one of the weekend rides. Now, I just need to know which one you will be at and we will get you your jersey.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
Kathy
