Patrick recognized the many years Charles has completed this task for club members. 2) Patrick received a message from a Homestead High School student Alex Angel wanting to form a school ride club/group. Kathy shared information that she knew of the subject. After discussion, members entertain assisting and instructing when an official school sponsor is selected. 3) Anne Ellis sent a letter of appreciation for the clubs support in the Ride of Silence.   4) Patrick shared the Festival Tour update sent to him by Luis. Plans are on track, volunteers still needed in all areas. Mike Sienk reported an issue with the sag area at Churubusco Park. 5) Kathy shared the Festival T-shirt design and the contest winner Kym Crandal.

-Reading of the minutes for meeting of May 1, 2014. Motion to accept minutes by Steve second by Patrick motion voted and carried.

-Treasurers report by Hugh.  He shared with Patrick the ID and password for automatic deposit and computer banking with the PNC Bank.  Balance of the Franke Trails project is $942.72. Insurance renewal will be August and the 2015 ride event calendar will need to be completed soon to assure proper coverage for events. Hugh reported debits and credits for May.

-Touring report by Steve.  June weekend start time is 10:00 am and will be moved to 9:00 for July.  The Huntington challenge was discussed and a vote was needed to assure proper planning time. After discussing liability concerns with previous events, members decided it would be in the best interests of the club not to provide insurance coverage this year.  Because of the club’s past participation in the event, members present wished to continue to sponsor the event.  Phil made a motion to commit $750 to $1,000 matching last year expenses. After further discussion the commitment was reduced to $500.00.  Phil agreed Patrick seconded the motion carried with all vote from members.  Steve will approach Huntington Challenge committee to determine if sponsorship offer is accepted.

-Off road report by Phil. Phil read a letter sent by the Fort Wayne Parks department terminating the relationship with 3 Rivers Velo Sport and the Fort Wayne Parks Department  over the Franke Park trail system built by Phil and the dedicated group of off-road riders.  The parks dept. terminated the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) contract due to expire in 2015 and has moved the contract to the NITRO club. No parks department member was present at the club meeting to answer or justify this decision.  Phil reported his attendance at the NITRO club meeting and their surprise in this turn of events. Phil expressed his desire to complete projects already underway. Officers and members, while very grateful for Phil’s commitment to this project and the many hours, days, months and years spent developing the trail system, expressed concern of legal action if 3RVS members continued work on the trail system. A sincere disappointment in the Fort Wayne Parks Department was expressed by members and officers in the manner this announcement was handled.  Patrick explained his thoughts concerning the termination.  No club funds will be spent on Franke Trails until further notice.
