50th Annual Three Rivers Festival Tour

Friday July 9 - Sunday July 11

Sweetwater Performance Pavillion

5501 US Highway 30 West

Fort Wayne, Indiana

Join us for Three Rivers Velo Sport’s 50th Festival Tour!

The Three Rivers Festival Tour is 50 years young in 2021 and Three Rivers Velo Sport will celebrate this special occasion with 3 days of riding!

We have scheduled a slow roll "city tour" on Friday evening that will encompass city streets, city trails, and cityscapes. Saturday will be a gravel ride in Whitley County and Sunday will be the grand finale, our traditional Festival Tour road ride.

The city tour will be approximately 10-15 miles, the gravel ride will offer both 20 mile and 40 mile options, and the road ride will offer multiple routes that will be as short as 20 miles and as long as a full century. The road ride will feature full service SAGS stocked with delicious snacks and tasty treats; an air-conditioned pavilion at our main SAG in Columbia City is supported by full indoor bathroom facilities and roving support vehicles. The Saturday gravel ride will be roughin' it with minimal SAG support outlined by rolling hide-away roads and back country scenery.

A full weekend adventure will find you on some of the best city trails, quiet country roads, languishing landscapes, challenging hills and freshwater lakes. Gravel or paved, what tops any of that on a warm summer ride?

We've made our registration fees very affordable so everyone can ride, and we've included special pricing if you sign up for both days. The Friday night City Trail Tour is complimentary for registered riders.

We will be adding more information on this page and the Three Rivers Festival Tour Facebook page as plans materialize.

  • New 3 days of rides;
  • NEW this year a 20 mile & 45 mile gravel ride on Saturday

It is membership renewal time! 3RVS memberships are valid from January 1st to December 31st annually. If you have not already renewed for 2019 now is the perfect time so you don’t miss out on your member discount at local bike shops as we start to think about gearing up for spring riding.

Renewal is still only $20 for an individual or $30 for a family and can be easily done on-line for a small convenience fee at,

Or you may print your membership form at and mail it in to the PO Box on the form. Don’t forget that when completing the form as a family both listed adults need to sign the form to be valid.

2019 Chilly Challenge Volunteer Request

Written by Mona Will - December 2018

As I’m looking out the window, I see a flock of Canadian geese flying over the tree tops, trees with only a handful of leaves left on some branches and green grass littered with brown leaves. Barely anyone has passed by on their bikes, walking, or running. It’s Thanksgiving Day, it’s cold outside, and I’m realizing how quickly January 1st is going to be here.

The “Chilly” has been a traditional ride for 3RVS members and others for many years. It’s the first day of a new year and a perfect excuse/reason to get the bike out and go for a ride. We offer a few routes to choose from and one stops by the river to watch the Polar Bears jump in. (Crazy people if you ask me.) Your first miles of the new year are always memorable. In years past we have had teeth chattering, cold to the bone weather, and we’ve also had mild, just a medium weight jersey was enough weather. One thing that remains the same no matter the weather is the camaraderie of fellow cyclists sitting down, eating the delicious chili and food, and sipping on gourmet hot chocolate that Joe Bartels is now known for, after the ride.

It’s the delicious chili and food that we always need volunteers to bring to the ride. I have found that we need at least 10 crockpots or instant pots to feed the burgeoning number of people that show up from year to year. We also need people to bring plates of brownies, cookies, cheesy bread, veggies and whatever else is yummy. We need volunteers to help with either set up, tear down, kitchen duties or registering riders. Set up takes about 4 people, same for tear down, and 2 for registering the riders. Each duty is less than an hour tops.

There’s a saying “it takes a village to raise a child.” I’d change that to “It takes a village of volunteers to keep the Chilly ride operating.”

Please private message me on Facebook or email me at with your offer of food or volunteering. We can’t do this successfully without you, you, and you.
