To All 3RVS Members:

Yesterday, the Huntington Bicycle Challenge Organization announced the new team challenge course for the September 20, 2014 Huntington Team Challenge. For the past three years we have scheduled two of our weekend tours to ride the team challenge course prior to event. To conform to that scheduling concept we must change the touring route for Sunday, August 31, 2014 from route ROA-4 to ROA-5. The starting location will be the same, Roanoke Park in Roanoke, Indiana. The route will change once we arrive in Huntington.

All members have been sent the new ROA-5 route map via email.

Touring / Labor Day Century
« on: August 24, 2013, 12:27:55 AM »
As an early reminder, our Annual Labor Day Century Tour on Monday, September 2, start time is 9:00 AM., at Huntertown Elementary School. If you like century rides, you should like this one, it’s a great route. There will be a rest stop every 25 miles. The first stop will be at Woodburn at mile 25. The second rest stop will be a fully complemented SAG stop at Cecil, Ohio, the half way point. At Cecil, we will meet up with MTB Director, Phil Snider and his group, who will be doing their own short circuit century, consisting of several short loops in the Hicksville/Cecil, Ohio area. From Cecil, the Huntertown Century Group will continue on to The Delaware Bend, then on to Hicksville for our last rest stop at the 75-mile point before returning to Huntertown to complete the 100-mile loop. If you are not up for a full century, there are two shorter, non-SAG supported routes of 60 and 75 miles on the Huntertown Century route. This is a scenic ride on low traveled county roads. The route is flat, except for a few rollers in the first eight and last eight miles of the tour.

Touring / Weekend Tour, Sunday, July 22, 2012
« on: July 18, 2012, 08:16:03 PM »
To All Touring Riders:

I have been informed that the State Time Trials will be held Sunday, July 22, 2012, on Dawkins Road, east of New Haven. Our Sunday tour starting at New Haven uses part of Dawkins Road as well. To avoid confusion, and not to disrupt the race, the touring group will use an alternate route to Webster Road.

Maps with the alternate route will be available at the tour.

I am looking forward to seeing you on the tour.

Yours truly,
Steve Pequignot
Touring Director

Touring / More pace options at this year's Welcome Rides
« on: April 02, 2012, 12:15:30 AM »
This season during our monthly Welcome Rides, 3RVS club member Dan Dorau will be leading a 10 to 12 mph pace group. Dan is of the opinion there are many club members interested in a welcome ride pace of 10 to 12 mph. If you are one of them, please join us and discover the thrill of riding in a pace line. Just ask for Dan's group. This is a no-drop group.

We will still offer our regular welcome ride pace of 15/16 mph. This is also a no-drop group.  The Bees group will be at three of the Welcome Rides this season. The Bees pace is 14/15 mph, this is a no-drop group as well. The no-drop provision assumes riders can maintain the minimum pace with each respective group.

Additionally, there is usually an 18+ group. If you cannot hang on to this group you will likely get dropped, however, there will be two or three groups behind you.

Come out and join us for a good time, there should be a good pace for everyone.
