Hi Chris,
I have been a club member for awhile - just donated to your ride.
If you are interested, there is another ride coming up.  It is the American Diabetes Association fund raising ride, Tour de Cure.  My employer, Cardinal Health, is sponsoring our team and I am the team captain.  The ride is on June 9 in Indianapolis.  It's a really cool setup where the ride begins and ends on the Motor Speedway.  You can ride anywhere from 2.5 miles to 100 miles!
Right now, we have 7 riders - 5 are Cardinal employees and 2 are not, but I'm the only one from Fort Wayne so far.
If you would like more details, e-mail me at [donna.nelson@cardinalhealth.com].  The team website is [http://main.diabetes.org/goto/CardinalIndy] .  If you regsiter with our team, the minimum fund raising commitment is $200.  You can use the PromoCode TOUR10 to take $10 off the registration fee.
In any case, good luck with your ride!  We need to find a cure and soon!
Donna

I wish I had read this before riding last weekend.  Same dog chased me! I now know to report dogs to officials: Sheriff at 260-449-7735 and Animal Care and Control 260-427-1244
Indiana Code 15-5-9-13 requires that dog owners not allow their dogs off their premises unless under the onwer's control. Failure to do so is a Class "C" misdemeanor.  The owner of a dog that leaves the owener's property and attacks a person, resulting in bodily injury, is liable under the code.
I'm told that even if there is no injury, reporting the dog means that someone will visit the home and discuss the problem with the owner.

Latest News / Beware of dog - near corner of Bruick and Parent roads
« on: February 18, 2012, 10:21:44 PM »
For those of you who cycle out of New Haven or several of NHS routes: Today the same dog come out on the road, barking, running alongside and in front of my bike twice - on the way out and the way back. I believe the owner lives at 13906 Parent Road, 2nd house east of the corner of Bruick and Parent roads. The dog is also known to the resident of 3330 Bruick road and reportedly goes to 3330 to visit the dog that lives there. First time he came out on road when I was east of the corner, the second time after I had alreayd cleared the corner going west. I've ridden these roads for years but have never seen this dog before.  Be careful!
