Learning to ride properly in a group

I like how the one guy in the comment section described how poorly his local club does group rides.

I miss riding with guys who knew what they were doing. The beautiful wagon wheel with 10-30 second pulls was a work of art, and safe. Now the group ride is more like a 16 year old learning to drive a clutch for the first time.

Sadly the observation in most of the comments was the people who need to learn how to ride in a group will read the article and never really understand it. They will just look at the computer on their handlebars and be mesmerized like a little kid sitting in front of a TV screen watching cartoons.

I am new at cycling and I was lucky enough to find the guys from the 3RVS who have helped me become a little better, I really enjoy the rides and I try to learn every time, I just hope not to fall into the "bad etiquette rider"
