MEETING MINUTES
October 4, 2018

1. Call to Order
Meeting called to order 7:30 PM by Patrick. Officers present included Patrick Stelte, Johnny Grabowski, Dave McComb, Pamela Fennell, Amy Copeland, and Scott Tomsits. Introductions and welcome extended to all in attendance including Jack Campbell, Mona Will, Kent Ellis, Jennifer Altherr, Shane Powell, Phil Snider, Charles Copeland, and Brad Smith.

3. Officer Reports

September minutes passed earlier in the meeting.

Patrick Stelte, President
- 2019 Festival Tour committee update: Tour will be on Sunday, July 14, 2019 and will start at the Sweetwater Performance Pavilion, with SAG at Morsches Park in Columbia City. The ride will be a Bicycle Indiana funding ride. Registration will open no later than January 1.
- Franke Park trailhead plaque honoring Phil Snider in need of replacement. $320 estimate for stainless steel replacement plaque was discussed and approved. Brad Smith will oversee the project.
- There will be a 40th Anniversary showing of the film Breaking Away at the Embassy Theatre. The Embassy contacted Patrick, offering a private room for the club to have a social gathering prior to the movie, with a cost of $650 (just the room, no extras, not even movie tickets). Discussed and declined by those in attendance, but agreed that the club should promote the movie as a fun, off-season social gathering.
- Dan Watts RIP:  members discussed what would be an appropriate way to express the club’s sympathy to longtime club member and ride leader Deb Watts.
- With Annual Awards Banquet (a.k.a. year-end party) to be held in January, there will be a December Club Meeting. Officer nominations will be opened in December with elections taking place at the January Club Meeting.

Hugh Smith, Treasurer (not present, report submitted)
Expenditures include liability insurance, Bike League annual membership, supplies for Ice Cream Ride, Supplies for Labor Day Century Ride, donation for use of building for Century Ride, website annual hosting fee.  Revenues include jersey sales.

Steve Pequignot, Touring (not present, report submitted)
- October Weekend Tours begin at 11:00 am
- Show ’n’ Go rides begin in November
- President’s Tour will take place Sunday, October 21. Route will be Homestead High School to Huntington
- September Touring Challenge wrap-up:  92 members participated totaling 68,032 kilometers ridden. Podium winners:  Women - 1. Kymberly Byers; 2. Denise Snyder; 3. Susan Zuber; Men – 1. Mark Linn; 2. Jim Snyder; 3. Marty Smolinski.  50 riders won distance medals.
- Skills Tour wrap-up:  4th year of tour:  41 riders won “A” wings (20 mph average)
- Weekend Touring: end of season is October 28
- Scott Tomsits will organize 3RVS Zwift touring rides during the winter months, details soon

Dave McComb, Racing
- New cyclocross partnership format with Team Neighborlink is working, with good attendance.
- Race team had tremendous success for the year.  Racing results have been posted to the 3RVS Racing Facebook page
- Dave mentioned the need for new tents with club name and logo.

Randy Rozewicz, Off-Road (not present, report submitted)
- Fort Wayne Parks Department has scheduled a meeting to discuss the Franke Park master plan on Ocotber 11th. Key stakeholders invited, including 3RVS representatives
- Updated Franke trails map sent to parks dept.  MOU yet to be approved by parks’ legal.
- The Epic Brown County will take place October 12-14
- Trails are in good shape and Monday night rides are ongoing
- Randy is working on an estimate for repairing the shed that holds off-road equipment

Publicity, Pamela Fennell
Pamela is still working on having Anthony Barr of the PBS Show “The Mobile Cyclist” include 3RVS when he comes to Fort Wayne

Amy Copeland, Membership
Total Memberships 305, comprised of 144 Family and 161 Individual memberships

Scott Tomsits, Newsletter
- October Newsletter was sent out, thank you to all who contributed
- 50th Anniversary store opened with options for winter wear

Mike Heyes, Webmaster (not present)
- Two extension updates added, as well as the usual scheduled updates

4. Additional Items of Interest
- Jersey Ride Wrap Up - 63 riders, 3 volunteers, 4 just to eat: $232.31 cost of food,
$50 in donations collected
- Monday Morning Meanderings & Musings wrap-up - 2nd year had up to 15 riders at one ride. Mona thanked all who have helped this year.
- “Winter Woolies” proposal - short, casual rides similar to Monday Morning Meanderings & Musings proposed to continue through the winter months, with location, distance options, time and day of week to be determined
